About Dorel

Dorel: 45 years of commitment to the nursery industry

Dorel is a global company that designs, manufactures and markets a variety of nursery products under numerous brands, with one consistent commitment, developing products that stand for safety, quality and innovation.

Dorel was founded in 1962, in Canada, when Leo Schwartz, who loved spending hours in his workshop, started to make crib bumper pads in his basement in Montreal. Dorel began operation, as a small family business, manufacturing and distributing juvenile products. By the early 1970’s Dorel had established a national Canadian presence.

In Canada, the name Dorel quickly became synonymous with quality juvenile products. Today Dorel employs approximately 4,700 people in 15 countries and sells products in over 60 countries. Dorel UK was established in 1988 and now has offices in Hertfordshire and Norfolk, which cover product development, sales and customer service.

Dorel is best-known to consumers through its three key brands; Maxi-Cosi, Quinny and Safety 1st which include a vast range of products – from car seats to strollers, child safety gates to bouncers, from child proofing to baby monitors and more – proving why, year after year, Dorel is the world’s biggest nursery products company.
